Kitchen Gardening for Kindred
Spirits Visit this blog to see posts of
a wide variety of subjects. Some of the posts are
directly from the book Cultivating Flavour, some include
material we had to leave out of the book because of lack
of space, whilst others are inspired by kindred spirits
I met as a result of the book. Please feel free to leave
your comments. Posts have been grouped under
the following headings: Cultivating

Spirits: Visit some of the many kindred spirits who
not only shared their knowledge and advice but who
continue to inspire and guide kitchen gardeners
everywhere. Soil
Preparation: The book Cultivating Flavour has a
whole chapter devoted to soil management and
preparation. This post Trench
gardening, double digging and raised beds was
specially written for those who haven't yet read
the Cultivating Flavour - in the hope that
even if they never buy the book, at least they'll save
themselves a lot of backache. Working
with the environment: Kitchen gardening is just so much easier
when you learn to work with all the various creatures in
your environment. The book Cultivating Flavour is full
of ideas on how to get micro-organisms to feed your
soil, get earthworms to dig it and chickens to do your
ploughing. Insects, too, perform a vital role by keep
the garden pest free. Have a look at the following
